Difference between Loneliness and Aloneness

Loneliness and being alone is confused so often.   When someone is sitting alone that does not necessarily imply that they are feeling lonely. Loneliness is a strong emotion that takes over you. It sucks out the happiness and engulfs you with anguish. There is a feeling of emptiness.   This feeling blinds us and all that we can see is darkness. We start believing that there is nothing more in life. It’s just a barren road complemented with hardships. Oh! That feeling is so overwhelming. It’s so difficult to live with that. Most people believe that one is lonely when that person does not have friends or when he/she is alone. However, this is not true. Loneliness has nothing to do with number of friends or people around you. I remember telling my friend that even though I am surrounded my so many people I feel alone. During that time I didn’t know the difference between lonely and alone.   This emotion is so frightening most people try to find an escape from it. ...

Body Shaming

We live in a world where most of the people are expose to television and the entertainment industry. We are constantly following celebrities on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.   The fitness routine of these celebrities is often an inspiration to the youth. We aspire to have such a body type . After all it is the health which is the real wealth. What is sad here is that the society has decided that having only a particular body-type is appropriate. Anything more or less then that results in being subjected to body shaming. So what is Body Shaming ? The definition is ‘body shaming is the practice of making critical, potentially humiliating comments about a person’s body size or weight.’   I wouldn’t have said it better. It’s difficult to escape from these comment, either they are directed towards you or someone around you. There are many ways in which a person is constantly subjected to body shaming. Have you observed that in many shows for kids or otherwise, it is al...

The Use and Throw Culture

‘ Reduce, reuse and recycle ‘ is a phrase we   have often heard it said. Yep, most of us have only heard it and never really applied it in our day to day life. Most of us prefer to buy new clothes every now and then rather than wearing old ones. I don’t really understand the logic behind this . No, seriously given a choice I would rather just spent my whole day wearing my pyjama and T-Shirt. When we go shopping most of us are just think about buying a good dress and   ignore just everything going   on in behind the scenes. We don’t care about(or are unaware ) how much water or energy has been used to make that dress available to us. While doing a little research on the internet I found out that textile production produces 1.2 billion tones of greenhouse gas every year. It can take 2,700 liters of water to produce the cotton needed to make a single shirt. That’s enough water   for a person to drink for two and a half years.   In most of the cases wastewate...

Cringe VS Content

Living in a boarding school which prohibited the use of electronic gadgets , I had no access to internet. Yep, we only had intranet.   This led me to read only books from the library, magazines and newspaper. I still remember skipping the Lunch breaks to finish the series ‘Legend’, crying my heart out at 3 am after reading     ‘The Boy In   The    Striped Pyjamas’. Fast forward to now, I am back home (pune) and pursuing my first year in b.com. The unsaid   norm in the cities is to own a mobile phone after a certain age and I am not complaining. It does feel good to own a phone but not sure how necessary.   I was very eager to make use of this new found freedom of having a mobile phone, internet and television. Television and internet are the two biggest source of entertainment in   daily life.   Talking about Indian television , it is filled with so much bullshit. The shows having good TRPs also do no justice. The storyline i...

Music Industry In India

Music Industry In India To me music is not just a word it is a bundle of emotions. Whenever I am in a good mood I play   music and when I need my mood to be good I play music. Not just me but most of us rely on music to comfort us. Music can make  that road trip so much more memorable. Music becomes our best companion on those lonely nights. It makes a ‘Bad day’ better.   The music I listen to is mostly Bollywood and   would like to put forth my views on the kind of music made in the industry. According to me the songs can be divided in the following categories. 1 THE REMAKES 2 REPETITION OF THE CATCH PHRASE 3 THE SHOWOFF SONG 4 THE SONGS HAVING   QUALITY    THE REMAKES Aren’t remakes the best ways to learn money? Just pick one popular songs from the 1900s , add the pumping music to it , make   it all sparkling   and we are done. We the audiences are going to feel nostalgic and listen to i...
