Difference between Loneliness and Aloneness

Loneliness and being alone is confused so often.   When someone is sitting alone that does not necessarily imply that they are feeling lonely. Loneliness is a strong emotion that takes over you. It sucks out the happiness and engulfs you with anguish. There is a feeling of emptiness.   This feeling blinds us and all that we can see is darkness. We start believing that there is nothing more in life. It’s just a barren road complemented with hardships. Oh! That feeling is so overwhelming. It’s so difficult to live with that. Most people believe that one is lonely when that person does not have friends or when he/she is alone. However, this is not true. Loneliness has nothing to do with number of friends or people around you. I remember telling my friend that even though I am surrounded my so many people I feel alone. During that time I didn’t know the difference between lonely and alone.   This emotion is so frightening most people try to find an escape from it. ...

Body Shaming

We live in a world where most of the people are expose to television and the entertainment industry. We are constantly following celebrities on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.   The fitness routine of these celebrities is often an inspiration to the youth. We aspire to have such a body type . After all it is the health which is the real wealth. What is sad here is that the society has decided that having only a particular body-type is appropriate. Anything more or less then that results in being subjected to body shaming. So what is Body Shaming ? The definition is ‘body shaming is the practice of making critical, potentially humiliating comments about a person’s body size or weight.’   I wouldn’t have said it better. It’s difficult to escape from these comment, either they are directed towards you or someone around you. There are many ways in which a person is constantly subjected to body shaming. Have you observed that in many shows for kids or otherwise, it is al...

The Use and Throw Culture

‘ Reduce, reuse and recycle ‘ is a phrase we   have often heard it said. Yep, most of us have only heard it and never really applied it in our day to day life. Most of us prefer to buy new clothes every now and then rather than wearing old ones. I don’t really understand the logic behind this . No, seriously given a choice I would rather just spent my whole day wearing my pyjama and T-Shirt. When we go shopping most of us are just think about buying a good dress and   ignore just everything going   on in behind the scenes. We don’t care about(or are unaware ) how much water or energy has been used to make that dress available to us. While doing a little research on the internet I found out that textile production produces 1.2 billion tones of greenhouse gas every year. It can take 2,700 liters of water to produce the cotton needed to make a single shirt. That’s enough water   for a person to drink for two and a half years.   In most of the cases wastewate...

Cringe VS Content

Living in a boarding school which prohibited the use of electronic gadgets , I had no access to internet. Yep, we only had intranet.   This led me to read only books from the library, magazines and newspaper. I still remember skipping the Lunch breaks to finish the series ‘Legend’, crying my heart out at 3 am after reading     ‘The Boy In   The    Striped Pyjamas’. Fast forward to now, I am back home (pune) and pursuing my first year in b.com. The unsaid   norm in the cities is to own a mobile phone after a certain age and I am not complaining. It does feel good to own a phone but not sure how necessary.   I was very eager to make use of this new found freedom of having a mobile phone, internet and television. Television and internet are the two biggest source of entertainment in   daily life.   Talking about Indian television , it is filled with so much bullshit. The shows having good TRPs also do no justice. The storyline i...

Music Industry In India

Music Industry In India To me music is not just a word it is a bundle of emotions. Whenever I am in a good mood I play   music and when I need my mood to be good I play music. Not just me but most of us rely on music to comfort us. Music can make  that road trip so much more memorable. Music becomes our best companion on those lonely nights. It makes a ‘Bad day’ better.   The music I listen to is mostly Bollywood and   would like to put forth my views on the kind of music made in the industry. According to me the songs can be divided in the following categories. 1 THE REMAKES 2 REPETITION OF THE CATCH PHRASE 3 THE SHOWOFF SONG 4 THE SONGS HAVING   QUALITY    THE REMAKES Aren’t remakes the best ways to learn money? Just pick one popular songs from the 1900s , add the pumping music to it , make   it all sparkling   and we are done. We the audiences are going to feel nostalgic and listen to i...

Children's Shows In India Need Reconsideration

Hey there, So which shows did you watch as a kid? Obviously the once screened on Cartoon Network, Pogo, Nickelodeon and of course Disney.   When I was growing up I wasn’t allowed to watch a lot of television, which always frustrated me. I mean imagine everyone at school is talking about the latest episode of Noddy and you are sitting there clueless. Yep, that was pretty much how I lead my life till Mid-school. And now life has turned 360 degrees. I see my younger sibling spending almost all of his time watching television. I decided to take a closer look at what is delivered to kids in India. In this post I will talk about kid’s show and   later I might talk about Indian daily soaps and movies. So lets jump right into it. Most watched television shows in India       This is what I found out on Google Ø   Doraemon Ø   Ninja –Hattori Ø   Chota Bheem Ø   Harry and his bucketful of Dinosaur Ø   Hagemaru Ø   ...

The Importance of 'Me Time '

Hey there, Have you noticed what the priorities of teenagers are these days? Do you know what makes them happy? Maybe you have guessed it. Yes, it is the amount of likes and comments gained on social media platform. This seems pretty normal right! Yes, this has become the new culture. Now a days our life and happiness is governed by the amount of attention we attract from others, be it on social media platforms or in real life. I have grown up in a school (boarding) that prohibited the use of electronic gadgets. This stimulated the creative portion of our brain and deserves a whole article dedicated to it. I am truly grateful to the school for enforcing such norms. It also encouraged us to take a moment and reflect upon ourselves. This motivated me to dedicate some time of my day to myself, which is popularly known as ‘Me Time’                        ...

And the race begins

Hey there , So Summer's  here! A season to enjoy ice-cream. To gulp down the sweet mango juice. To spend those lazy nights under the blanket of stars . Sounds fun right. Well, think again. Summer is the season when exams are over. And for some the 'BOARD EXAMS' are over. When students finish that last paper, there is no end to their happiness. Oblivious to the fear of results looming close by. Finally the day of the results arrives! With hearts in their hands the students check their marks.  Those numbers on the computer screens decide their future . Those numbers decide whether they have won or lost the war in which they were hurled since childhood. While some people celebrate their victory a majority of the students spend their time wondering what went wrong ? Why has the world suddenly turned dark? Why has everyone ,even the parents started looking down at them? Is this the end ? To me all this seems so weird, infact extremely ridiculous. The grading syste...

Just beginning

Hey there, This is my first blog. I have been thinking of what to write for about two days . I think it is best to introduce myself first. I am not going to write the usual 'my name, and I am from ....' because that anyways doesn't matter. All I want to say is that I am a girl who has just graduated from senior school. I am at a turning point in my life. A whole new exciting path.  And standing here I see various roads and their misty destination. I am a person who enjoys living the life to the fullest. However, I can see myself being trapped in the daily routine life . The mundane lifestyle .  I see this blog as an opportunity to pause and breath. I see this blog as an opportunity to reflect upon myself, to ponder on the world affairs. Yes, this is me and this is how my blog is going to be......a reflection of many things.
